Hello,
I have had a couple of AMD XP processors in the last few months. First, I purchased an AMD Athlon XP 2000+ 1.666GHz processor for use with my VIA KT266 motherboard. Using this system I noticed that everything detected my processor as a 1.2 GHZ. The system ran like it to and I wasnt sure why it was so low. Over a few months I ended up first getting a new motherboard. I got the NVIDIA nForce2 Ultra 400 Chipset +. Then, I was able to get a new processor for free, the AMD Athlon XP 2200+ 1.8GHz and I put this in my new nForce2 motherboard. I figured that the CPU detection was just a simple flaw before and that with all new components it would no have the same problem but now it detects it as a 1.35 ghz processor. I gave my brother my AMD Athlon XP 2200+ 1.8GHz and on his computer it runs and detects as exatly what it is. Why does this happen with my computer?

i think you need to change your fsb (front side bus). This can be done with the jumpers on your motherboard. look through your manual for your motherboard to see how to do this.

In BIOS set your FSB to 133, that will solve your problem.
