I'm thinking of buying a computer to run the latest games perfectly. Games I vary quite a bit but mainly games made by blizzard and valve. Can anyone suggest to me which components should be included in my computer? I heard amd and ati are the better matches for gaming...

Actually, Intel CPUs are better. Dual-core is the current trend. There are a few quad-core CPUs available, but there's very little need for one yet...dual-core is barely getting a good workout.

As for the video card, it doesn't really matter if you choose ATI or nVidia, so long as you pick a card that's capable of high end gaming.

If you buy a pre-built PC, you'll probably get stuck with Vista, so you may wanna get a video card that supports DX10.

How much are you looking to spend?
