look on your m-board and see if theres a jumper named VGA "disable it" and install new card.. if theres no jumper on your board enter your bios and look in the "advanced" option it should be an option in the perifaral <--bad spelling lol .... and just disable and install new card...

What mobo are you using? Anyway, alot of mobo's come with the option to disable onboard utilities, such as graphics, sound, lan/ethernet....
