I am new to all this, but i cant get my laptop to register over 600 MHz, even though it is 1 GHz pentium 3[m]. Could someone explain this and if possible correct this. I have 512 MB ram on the laptop

compaq bios is very simple, basically you can't set the fsb through compaq bios...so you are screwed. i would say maybe your battery is dying.

Call up customer support. As long as you havn't opened it up and your warranty hasn't expired, tell them that if they can't help you get it fixed then that you want to send it back for a new one. And if they say that they wont give you a new one, then threaten them
