I am currently trying to oc my p4 2.4 northwood and have it at 2.77. My temps are fine and at about 20C idle but when i try to raise the clock speed a little higher it will go through post then just keep restarting. I am using an Ablatron px848 pro series mobo.

20C at idle? I think that's unlikely...20C is only 68F, which is considered room temp. Either your temp is being misreported or you have one awesome cooling setup!
Your RAM may be holding you back, but it's hard to say cuz you didn't say what you have...PC2100, 2700 or 3200? Is that CPU the 533FSB version (I'm not up on my P4s)? If it is, you must have the FSB up to about 154mhz? If you have PC2100, you've about reached your limit...if you have PC2700 or better, you may need to increase your CPU voltage

Yes that is my temperature because i used dryer tubing making a path from my ac to case. My ram is pc2100 and pc2700 and the fsb is 533. I guess its the ram but i am able to keep overclock just the ram itself but if i do the fsb anymore it doesent work.
Summary: If your comp reboot because the cpu overheat, i think u may need to buy a new cpu fan. A program can reduce the idle temps but not the loaded temps so your comp will no be very stable anyway. ...
