======================================================================================== Changing the CPU clock speed can be a trick. Finding a working combination of core speed and multiplier is the key. On my system, for example, I have a PIII 1.2Ghz processor. My MoBo wants to run it at 900Mhz though. I try to set the core/bus speed at 166 with a multiplier of 7 and it fails even though this is actually sub-speed for the over all processor rating. However, if I set the core/bus speed to 133 and set the multiplier to 9 it runs at 1.2Ghz perfectly. I would just try what ever combinations you have available to you starting with the lowest core/bus speed to support the CPU speed and work up from their.

check to make sure that the jumpers (or dipswitches) are set correctly for your cpu.
Then go into bios on first boot after clearing the bios, and confirm that the settings in there match the jumper settings.
