Your questions have nothing to do with CPU's or overclocking.

You're gonna need more RAM for gaming. 256MB is pathetic..it's barely enough to run XP, let alone game with it. And decent AGP cards are fairly power hungry so it's possible that you may have to upgrade your power supply. Then there's the video card itself...decent AGP gaming cards are relatively expensive. How much are you willing to "invest" in your old machine? Where are you from?

If he plans on investing more than $120.00 (US) with his current system, it's a waste. Might as well build an entirely new and up-to-date system. BTW, you don't have to spend a fortune for great performance either. Check around on the internet for prices.

What games are you trying to play? With that cpu, even with the best agp card available, you won't be able to play most games that came out after 2005 with respectable frame rates--this is not a given, there are some exceptions. Furthermore, a good cpu is also needed, or it will hold back the video card.

Keep in mind, you can't just pop in a modern cpu in that system, you need to upgrade "everything"--motherboard, psu, ram, etc. Spend your money wisely, don't waste it on an aging system.
