I'm trying to compare an intel centrino to and AMD XP-m. It seems like im comparing apples to oranges. Take for example the HP ze4400 this notebook offers you the choice of an amd processor or an intel. they offer the amd's from 2200+ to 2600+ essentially 1.8ghz-2.133ghz and the intels from 1.8ghz-2.5ghz so can anyone tell me how these chips compare or where i can get a system (below) for cheaper?
amd or intel
256mb ram
15" XGA screen
60gb hard drive
dvd/cdrw (dvd-r if possible)
2 year or more warranty
can anyone find around or cheaper than $1300?
Xoom

i just got a new dell laptop and it really is pretty cool
internal 802.11b/g wireless mini-pci card
15" sxga+
40 gig
256 megs pc2100 (ddr266)
pentium 4 2.4 ghz with 533 fsb
dvd/cd combo drivetake a look at DELL, you can probably get it under
1496 minus 200 rebate, just under your 1300...the display is excellent, a lot of laptops have just the xga display, the sxga+ is the 2nd best that dell offers

Here is a laptop you might like.
Sony PCG-GRT170
Intel 845MP chipset
Pentium 4 2.8Ghz (533)
512MB PC2100

16.1 SXGA+
DVD/R+RW/CDRW
Intergrated 802.11b wirelessAll for $2199 - $100 rebate = $2099
