This may sound like a very stupid or simple question, depending on how experienced you are! I'm just getting into this overclocking business and I have a Intel Celeron 500 CPU. Is this going to be any good for the job (I don't have a lot of knowledge just yet!)
Cheers,
Owen

Depends what motherboard it's on really. Is it a system made from common components and not a brand name system like a Dell or HP?

What job? Is overclocking a job? If it is, I'm still not sure what you're trying to ask.

It should be able to overclock very easily upto 1Ghz or more. BUT with good cooling.

actually, 600 MHz is probably more realsistic....depends on your motherboard and ram and other components of your computer.
If your computer is a "name brand" computer, you probably won't be successfull in overclocking it 1 MHz higher then stock
