Comment:

I would like to buy a notebook.

Q1) Intel Celeron 1.3 M and Intel Centrino 1.4. Which CPU is better in term of performance?

Q2) Which CPU will heat up faster?

Your response will be much appreciated.
Thanks

There is no processor named "Centrino". If in fact your question is Celeron M vs Pentium M, then it it is not a fair comparison since the celeron M is a cheap version of the pentium M.

The desktop celeron will always be known as the undercached version of the desktop p4. The celeron is way slower than the p4 if the ghz is the same, is why I say that.

But there is a good chance that the pentium M will be known as the overcached version of the celeron M. The celeron M and Pentium M are about the same if the ghz is the same, is why I say that.

The M processors are different than the desktop processors in cache, branch prediction efficiency, and instructions per clock cycle ability. The last two of those three differences are the main reason the Ms get more done with less ghz. Of course the public thinks that cache is king and will focus on that. "Now More Cache" is to 2004 what "It's NEW" was to 1954.

Th celeron M does not have speedstep like the pentium M does which make the pentium M way better for battery life. The only reason I can think of why intel did this is to keep us from realizing that the celeron M is actually the better deal.

I haven't seen anything about the heat comparisons.
