Celeron D fan problem

I have a celeron d 340 and when im playing a game for like 5 minutes the fan will spin really fast and then stop, it keeps doing this and then it overheats. I have no clue what the problem is. I was thinking about buying a fan controller.

It would help to know what motherboard you have. Some Intel chipsets had an issue with the fans. A BIOS upgrade helped them.

i have asus motherboard and its p4gv-la, also know as the guppy motherboard
