Hi everybody, right now I have a Celeron D 340 and i dont really like it its sluggish in games and multasking. I was looking at newegg.com and saw a combo mobo and cpu
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813135005. So should i buy the athlon xp 2800+ combo or stick with my clereon D 340.

Go with a socket 939 nforce 4 and throw in an Athlon 64 3000+ and oc it.
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+
2GB Dual Channel DDR 3200
Nvidia 7800GT
SATA II 2x 200gig 7200rpm 16mb cache RAID-0
Gigabyte Nforce 4 SLI

Can't you just upgrade the CPU instead of a dead-end MOBO/CPU combo ?
If you must go your route, there is another option below (it was $100.00 two weeks ago).

You can't beat the combo deal posted by Sabertooth. And if you check the following site, you'll find all sorts of tips & tricks to overclocking it. Pay particular attention to posts by furballi & Zap:

well the mobo that i have now with my celeron is a piece of crap, it only has 3pci slots no agp or pci e

that comob that Sabertooth's link is ATX i need a micro ATX and the althlon xp is better than the sempron

An Athlon XP is old technology now and spent its last years on Socket A.. If you got a socket 754 Sempron 2800+ anginst a 2800+ Athlon XP on socket A it would out perform the Athlon XP, So a 3100+ would slaughter it. Also, 754 still has a bit of a future and processors are still being made for it. Socket A was phased out in 2005 and it lived longer than expected.
If I were you I would also get a standard ATX case as you can get them cheap as dirt if get a plain one.. But that brings in the matter of the power supply... but maby someone else can contiue this as I have had enough typing for now.

... meh

"the althlon xp is better than the sempron"
That's incorrect. Sabertooth's link is to a S754 Sempron which is based on the Athlon64, so it's better than any socket A AthlonXP/Sempron.
But even if we were talking about a socket A Sempron, it's nothing more than an Athlon XP (TBred) with a new name, new FSB, & new PR rating system. In fact, the Sempron is actually better than the AXP it replaced because ALL Semprons run at 333FSB, while the majority of the AXP TBreds run at 266FSB. You can even find a couple of Semprons based on the Barton core.

Yea but althon xp thats in the like that i posted is s754 and its 800/1600 mhz fsb. Plus the AXP is a 512 L2 cache and the sempron is only 256 L2 cache like my celeron. And the AXP is a barton core

Err........before you get all pumped up about the Socket 754 Athlon XP-M 2800+ in the Newegg deal, you might want to cross check your information.
AFAIK the L2 cache on the 754 (1600 MHz) CPU is actually a measly 128KB and NOT 512KB as you claimed. Even its sibling, the Socket 754 Athlon XP-M 3000+ (also a Dublin) only comes with 256KB L2 cache.
I honestly suggest you listen to what the guys above are telling you, rather than acting like you know more than you apparently do !!!
