Comment: Hi I get new Celeron 2.4Ghz with MSI motherboard using 845C chipset, I read some reviews about how much is that cpu is overclockable be when I run it the CPU temp is 60-65 is that normal, I feel its too high, whan I start to overclock it using fuzzy logic utility that provide by MSI, the degree was reach 85 when the FSB was 110 ????? what is the problem why it's getting to hot rapidly? is the rong with fuzzy logic or what? I put very big hopes of getting that CPU over 3400Mhz but ??? I'm using normal HSF is it the problem or maybe the thermel compound ? help me plz Thanks in advanced

Reply: (edit)The temperatures, in Celsius or Farenheit? If they are in Celsius, they are high. I don't know how much your 2.4 Celeron could be clocked. My 2.0 has reached a bit over 3 ghz with 1.70 vcore. The temperature was never too high using stock heatsink fan. I had upgraded to Pentium since, the 128 cache does not emit much heat as the 512 cache Pentium. I remember it never reached 55 degrees C.

Reply: (edit)after try to overclock it from the BIOS, I noticed that the temperature have not gone above 70C, but there is a poroblem that I cant overclock above 2784MHz "116 bus" when I increse the bus over that I get blue death screen or the computee restared, I try to raise the Vcore by.025 but that have not help, my CPU is currently using 1.525V what is the maxium Vcore I can use, my motherboard is optimazed for overclocking and Celeron is very overclockable but what happning whith me? does I need to play with the RAM timing ???

Reply: (edit)1.525v is your default cpu voltage. Many motherboards will not get the exact input, i.e. bios set @1.550 in Windows O/S will only show 1.50 (something in that range). Set your memory to the most relax timing to isolate the CPU overclocking problem. When you get to where you want and the system is stable then tweak the memory timing. My P4 2.4B (533mhz C1 stepping not BO) is clocked to 3.12ghz with 1.775V set in BIOS. Temp peaks at around 62C with 27-28C ambient (room temp) and 34C system temp. BO stepping 2.4B would not go over 2.88ghz.

Reply: (edit)this night I tried to overclok it using to 2.9GHz, I have sow the Bios screen one time then its hange I tried to restart it but it gave me back screen "even video card bios screnn have not appear", then I clear the bios to return back to my defult speed, does wrong RAM timing cause that, is there a rouls or basics I must follow when modify the RAM timing ? because this is the first time I do it, what you think is the problem with my computer? I have very overclockable CPU and good motherboard optimazed for overclocking and sufficant cooling but I can't get any thing over 2.6GHZ ?? this is driving my creazy :(
