Subject: Can't set fsb to 133 on KT7-RAIDOS: Windows 2000 ProfessionalCPU/Ram: AMD Athlon XP 1700+ / 1Gb |
Comment: Hi I have a KT7-RAID with an Athlon XP 1700+ and 1Gb PC133 SDRAM...but I can't set the FSB to more than 103Mhz, so I can't run the Athlon at even its normal speed (should be 11 x 133mhz I think). If I take it over 103, the video card stops working until I take power out of the machine for 30s. Then it comes up and says 'CPU has been changed or is unworkable'. Now the fun bit: the video card is an Inno3D MX400 AGP with 64mb. Is it simply that this AGP card can't take 133mhz? Time to get another or switch to a PCI card? Cheers all Simon

Reply: (edit)That'll be it then. Thanks, Badboy. Funny, though - the chip works fine in my mb, it just runs at 1100. So I'll be shopping for a new mb then! Simon

Reply: (edit)Darn! thought it would answer, why I can't run my 1.3 T-Bird at 133mhz, I get the exact same problem, and can only bump up to 103mhz, before i have a problem. wheee and yes I"m on a KT-7 RAID
