I've got the following setup:
- Corsair Dual 1GB DDR Value Select PC3200
- Asus K8VSE Deluxe VIA K8T800 (Socket 754)
- AMD Athlon 64 3000 Newcastle 130nm (Socket 754)...but my CPU is only running at 2000MHz (200MHz x10). When I looked in the motherboard manual for how to change the clock speed, I found that the instructions reffered to options in the Setup that I don't seem to have. I after a look around, I found that I could not change the multiplier, but I could change the 200MHz to anything within a range of 100MHz or so either side... however, anything except the default prompted an 'overclock failed, open setup to restore defaults' error.
I'm also getting the error message 'no drive attatched to fasttrack: BIOS is not installed' while booting up... could this have anything to do with it?

What seems to be the problem? The 3000+ Newcastle is SUPPOSED to run at 2.0GHz
ASUS A7N8X-X
Athlon XP 1800+
8.5 x 200MHz
1024MB PC3200 2.5-3-3-7
Asus A9550GE/TD 128MB
WinME/WinXP Pro SP2

the 562148794th of AMD speed question.....
lol...AMD runs at lower speed, but do more on each cycle.
AMD 3000+ @ 2.0 GHz means
a 2.0GHz AMD processor which have the same capability as Intel's P4 3.0 GHz.this means, AMD processor runs more efficient, and have lower power consumption while maintains same capability as higher speed Pentiums.
Athlon 64 2800+ @ 2.63 Ghz Stock Cooling
Timings:2-3-2-5
V-Gen 512MB pc3200
DFI Lanparty UT NF3
Abit R9550 VGuru XTurbo
525Mhz/300Mhz

Ahhh, right... sorry for the pointless question then! That's put my mind at ease :) Still a bit confused about the 'no drive attatched to fasttrack: BIOS is not installed' error... since my BIOS obviously *is* installed. Ah well, thanks for the help!

The thing about Fasttrak sounds like you didn't install the S-ATA or some Raid drive at installing Windows XP.
When you boot from the XP CD at the start come a blue screen and at the buttom line it asks to press F6 for installing third party drivers for a short time (too short in my opinion if you don't know about it!). You need to press F6 there and need a floppy disk you have to build from the mainboard CD before on another computer (why easy if you can do it the complicated way? ;) ). After a while XP will ask for that driver disk and you can install those drivers! If you already have a running XP you can install them over "control panel" - "system" - "device manager" or something like that (sorry english is not my native language so I'm not sure about the correct terms windows will use!)
