I was trying to overclock my AMD XP 2400 in the bios and the FSB is dimmed out so i cannot change it...is there anyway to make it usable or another way to overclock it besides using jumpers?

If your motherboard BIOS lacks overclocking features, you are out of luck regarding changes from within the BIOS.
Also you forgot to include your motherboard details.

Do you mean DFI AD77 Infinity (VIA KT400), going by the info from here that board is not one of the best overclockers out there.
One thing I'd like you to confirm though is the allegation that the overclocking features within that boards BIOS are bogus, if it is maybe you might have a reason to contact DFI for a refund or an explanation.

That's the type of info we need...something like
DFI AD77 Infinity
including any version number designation. This info is in the motherboard manual or should be included with a purchased system. Without accurate info, we're just guessing at the solution.

"its the viaKT400 AD77 chipset"
that's the chipset on the mobo, but not the mobo.
downlaod everest home edition and run it, then select motherbboard > motherboard name. That will tell you what you have.

If your board is a DFI AD77, here's what is says about overclocking:
"Overclocking options
- Processor/memory/chipset/AGP voltage is variable, with the multiplier adjustable;
- FSB adjustable in 1MHz increments between 100 MHz and 250 MHz"I suggest you read your manual...

From the original post.
"the FSB is dimmed out so i cannot change it"
That's why we need the motherboard we're working on. If the DFI AD77 is your particular board, then jam is correct and you've simply missed a bios setting to enable an "advanced" or "user" setting. Enabling something like that would solve the greyed-out problem.
