Hi, everyone. I've got a game that I want to run on my newer computer, but I can't. The game's called Virtual On Cyber Troopers. (some of you might know it, it's the exact same version in arcades) It will run on my old machine, but not on my new Pentium 4. My old machine was a 233mhz Pentium 2 with MMX, and the game ran SO slowly on it, but when I try to install it on my P4, a message says that I need to have MMX in order to run the game and then it stops installing and returns me to the Windows desktop. If P2s have MMX, shouldn't P4s??? So I looked on the intel inside stickers on both 'puters. On the P2 machine it says MMX right above Intel Inside, but on the P4, no MMX. Still, is there any way I can get this game to run on my fast machine? If the P4 has MMX, do I have to go to the BIOS to enable it? Thanks

P4s don't have MMX

I got Dual booting (same HD) windows98se & Windows xp pro and i still can play old games on it with win98 Duke Nukem 3d , Space quest 1-5 ,Crystal cave , rise of triad ,F1 world GP (need mmx cpu) without any problems.

But anyway i think that P4 still got mmx tech but i not sure , you may need a patch for your game for newer computers did you think about that?

Just reread your post a patch may not help you because you can not install the game well sory about that & sory i can't help more don't know the game.

use wcpuid to see what instruction sets your cpu can do. Last time I checked a P4, there was no MMX
