Hi Jay!
Just to let you know I am a computer professional and will be glad to answer any other PC related questions you may have. Just give me an e-mail when you can.

To answer your question, lets say for now that your CPU operates at a frequency equivalent to 2.66 GHz with a FSB of 533 MHz. You enter the BIOS Setup and access the PnP Setup page. There is a great possibility that it might say 'LOCKED' somewhere on the screen or you may not be able to modify any settings at all. This is because some motherboards do not support overclocking. I also built my own PC and tried the same thing you are doing a couple of days ago. Mine said that my CPU Frequency is locked, disabling me to change settings. I know how you feel. My processor is an Intel Pentium 4 that operates at 2.4 GHz, but since my overclocking options were locked by the manufacturer, the FSB currently remains at 100 MHz when it should say 533 Mhz. So if I were to make one recommendation it would be to buy a new motherboard (that is what I am planning to do). I found many GREAT quality boards online, many under &130.00 and supporting Pentium 4 up to 3.06 GHz! Remember to ask if the motherboard allows overclocking before you buy it :)!

E-mail me at my default address that I supplied above if you need more help. I would also like to know which motherboard you might buy if you decide on getting a new one. Thanks for submitting your question...I like helping other people when it comes to computers (as you can already tell)!

Sorry. When I said that there are many great boards under &130.00, I meant $130.00.
