I have a "evesham" tower with a 700Mhz chip that takes lots of RAM and takes up little space and an 866Mhz chip in a desktop that can only take 512Meg of RAM. Can i swap these assuming the pin layout is the same and can i then safely overclock the 866 a bit? Thanks. Mylarjorgen
I don't know the solution but I do admire the problem

Can't help without knowing the make/model of your motherboard.
The 700MHz CPU runs at 100MHz FSB, the 866MHz CPU runs at 133MHz FSB, so obviously the board you wanna swap to would have to support 133MHz FSB. Plus you should also have PC133 RAM to go with it.
