That link is to your machines info page.
You can flog a dead horse all you like, but that pc is doing abotu as much as it'll ever do. Time for a new machine.

It's not worth itHello jam, xxx*USA (* - global character) :D, hello all.
If I remember right the celerons are quite overclockable right? ofc you would know better, this is not my speciality.
With its 1MB shared vid mem, its no gaming machine, but if the mobo has an AGP slot, with a second hard 32MB card and the CPU doing ~850MHz, he can pull of some games. Doom3 wont work, but something released a couple of year ago should work.
Games already being playable will be slightly better with some extra fps achievable.Lets forget games, if that comp is used for image/audio/video editing, we all know the faster the CPU better the response is (assuming sufficient ram ofcourse).
I'd not junk this machine, there are quite some things it CAN pull off. with or without o/c.
Pushing it to get a 100MHz extra out of it may make life a lil bit easier for the user.just my thoughts! I hate to see stil-working-not-so-old-comps-die only because they are old and dont have fancy speed ratings.
A small article I wrote:

The problem is it's an HP machine. The settings in the BIOS are limited & I highly doubt there are any overclocking options available.

jam, That makes sense I asked because I thought you might of been implying it was too old.
I agree with kailas' comment "I hate to see stil-working-not-so-old-comps-die only because they are old and dont have fancy speed ratings."
I still run an old gateway 166 OC'd to 200 at home it's performance is fine for what I use it for.

Totty,
I was in a hurry when I made that reply...I should have explained myself.
I hate to see old machines go to an early grave too. You don't need a 3ghz/1gb/WinXP machine to do word processing, send e-mails & get on the internet...you can do that quite well with a 233mhz/64mb/Win98 machine, but the majority don't understand that, even though that's what the majority use em for...lol.

jam, the fancy with faast CPUs is also to do with brash advertising by companies. "I want to have a comp faster than yours" feeling.
I have written a small article on this and have put it up on my site...see end of response 4 for the link.

like XxxFrancisxxxUSA set "Time for a new machine" yap its time for new machine
Ty Guys For your help :D

It's nice to find a couple of people who think the same as me. Doesnt look like Matt015 is taking any notice though, it probably just needs a defrag :-)
Everythings all about advertising, why else would chart music be so bad, people drink carling, drive cars that handle like bar stools etc.
Unfortunatly the average person is stupid enough to believe the ads.The centreno ads are quite bad, "connect wirelessly anywhere" I wonder how many poeple buy one and wonder why they can't. They've never hared of an access point.
I have my old 166 (200) gateway desktop, a 486 laptop and a C1500 laptop which I only bought because it was too cheap to turn down.
I also drive a 1977 reliant scinmitar GTE. (the 486 laptop may become part of a programable engine management system quite soon)
