If i get it runing i would like to over clock it b.c i am upgradeing it all since its cheaper then getting a new one being i got it free i have a 2.4cpu with 160gbhd and a 2 or 4 gig mem what do i need to over clock it if i can if i cant what eles can i do to make it faster like new computers thanks
Laptops/notebooks generally can NOT be overclocked. And judging from your two posts, you probably should let someone more knowledgeable do the upgrading.
You need to realize how a laptop works. The CPU speed varies depending on load. If the CPU ran at 2.4GHz all the time, the battery runtime would be short & the CPU would run hot & possibly overheat. But by varying the speed, the CPU runs cooler & the battery runtime is greatly increased. Intel uses "SpeedStep Technology", AMD uses "Cool 'n' Quiet"
"is there anything eles i can get and do to it to make it faster"
You probably need to clean up accumulated junk files, runs virus & spyware scans, disable useless startup programs, defrag the drive, etc.
BTW, 4GB RAM is *probably* unnecessary & won't increase performance unless you actually need that much memory.
ok well i give the hd and all back now i just need to get the computer runing so even if i get like 2 gigs and put a 100gb hd and put a cuple games on it will run the same as if would with 80gb and 1gig mem
I don't know what games you're hoping to play, but with a "16MB RADEON 7500 ATI Mobility video chipset" you're not gonna be able to play any recent titles, regardless of how much RAM you have installed. The bottomline is the T30 is not a gaming laptop & no amount of upgrades will turn it into one.
You just said you can already play it? C & C is well over 10 yrs old (depeding on which version you have) so the system requirements are pretty low by today's standards. The original version was released in 1995.
Dude .... you can at least put some effort into your personal inquiries, this forum is for computer issues & hardly a free tutorial classroom. A little googling goes a long way .... try it. We really shouldn't be looking up System Requirements for your games, if we have to: you probably shouldn't be playing them to begin with.
