Comment:

When I boot up my computer and see the XP logo appear, nothing happens. It just stays like that. I also noticed that my hard drive light blinks once every 5 seconds. So I hold the power button in to shut off, then I turn it back on. Now it brings me to the "windows did not boot properly" screen and asks me to go to 3 different safe modes, or last known good settings. None of these options work. So I keep repeating this and all of a sudden it somehow works and brings me to xp desktop. I ran a full scandisk and there are no errors to be found. I also noticed that the time was ahead about 3 hours into the next day (1 am) with the correct date. I think it is the battery. The computer is only 6 months old. I really don't think it's the hard drive, and I am thinking about doing a full bios reset. I am running out of options.

Thanks,

EricF

Have you tried reloading your OS using the long format (not the quick)?
