i just built a new PC, after i set up my new PC and the 1st time to turn it on, all the fans are running strong, everything seems on, just nothing appears on the screen. not even a BIOs set up screen or intro screen, plus no beep sound when i turn on. the i see the LED shows c1, always stop on C1 every time the PC turn on. i have tried my RAMs on my friend's PC and works fine. whats wrong with that? doesnt have anything on the screen, i have tried from PCI to AGP card, still nothing. what happen, this was my 1st time to turn on the PC, what did i do wrong, i have tired clear the cmos and then put it default for like 100 times, still the same problem, nothing on the screen, always stop on C1 post code. never pass this code to get to the next post item. always stuck here. plz help!
mobo is ABIT AS8, 1 512mb ddr 400 rams on dimm 1 slot. p4 3ghz socket775. plz help
C1 means detect memories
-auto-detection of DRam
-auto-detection of L2 cache(socket 7 or below)
any 1 have any idea whats going on? is it my mobo, RAM, or my cpu problem. thanks

Are you gonna keep asking this until you get the answer you wanna hear?

It's time to gut your rig & start over. Try booting with minimal hardware, that will eliminate many possible hardware conflicts & help you to focus in on the problem.

All you need connected to the motherboard are the PSU (make sure the 4-pin ATX12V1 plug is attached), CPU w/HSF (make sure 4-pin fan plug is attached to the correct header), RAM (one stick only), AGP video card (make sure to connect to PSU if required), & keyboard. That is ALL you need to bootup & get into the BIOS.

Disconnect any hard drives or optical drives (just unplug the cables - no need to remove from case), remove all PCI cards, & disconnect the mouse.

Now try to bootup....

512mb PC3200
Ti4200/8X 128mb
WDC 60GB
