Please check if the cable from the monitor to the AGP Card or the onboard driver on the MOBO is connected properly and screwed to its position.
Then put your pc on again. Voila!!!

yes i made sure that that it was plugged in properly and the screw were tighten (for VIOLA) ....
When I booted up all looks normal but the screen was black. I tried to turn it on before and after i booted up, but the screen was still black... The monitor and AGP video card I was using were from my other computer so I know they work. Also, I know that they are compatible to the MOBO (for MATT)

What OS are you running??? can you get into safe mode? if you can, get in and reinstall the driver! if you are unning WIN XP, enter the driver properties and run it un win98 compatibility mode!
Also try enetering bios setup and changing the vga properties to AGP!

Let us know please!

if you can't see anything during or after bootup, it's probably because the AGP card is not seated properly. I've had that problem more times than I care to admit. Just remove then reinsert the AGP card, make sure it's all the way down. If you can see any of the the contacts on the card when it's in the slot, it probably isn't inserted all the way.

If this doesn't fix the problem, please post back with your board type and what beep codes you are getting.

buy/borrow a PCI video card, just to test with. if your system works with a PCI video card, it's your AGP slot that's bad. if the PCI card doesn't work, you could have a bad motherboard. (happened to me once. same problems, replaced the motherboard, and everything worked.)

just out of curiosity, how many watts is your power supply?

i bet its the agp seated well. agp/pci cards have to really be jammed in there, its probably slightly up on the back end and you havent realized it. make sure the vga plug is pluged into the blue thing on the vga card. the only thing i can think of is what everyone else said. its not seated well. im telling you, you must use force to pusht it in. dont jam it, just firmly and quiclky, and move up and down he back rim of the card to make sure its in well.

I've got a similar problem.

I have a Compaq 5000 (UWAVE2) motherboard and too have a blank screen.

It looks like it has onboard graphics and I'm running XP-Home on it. On inspecting the vga slot's connection, (blue thing)I found that it had detached itself from the motherboard. I soldered it back on again, but no luck. Still blank.

There is a parallel port situatet on top of the vga port, which is connected to the motherboard. This makes it even more difficult to try and establish whether the connection with the motherboard is ok.

The factory solder is too strong for my little soldering iron. Neither my monitor, nor my keayboard shows any life when booting up. I have stuck a PCI graphics card into one of the expasion slots, but tis too has made no difference.

Now there are 2 of us stuck!!

Rian.

Hey guys I have the same problem. I upgraded my video card today. Was setting up the drivers for the new card, rebooted, and the computer froze on the bootup sequence. I rebooted and there was nothing on the screen. The card is on an AGP slot, I have 2 spare video cards and none of them worked either. I tried those video cards on another system, and they all worked fine. I think my AGP slot is bad. Will try a PCI card when I can get a hold of one. Any suggestions?

Quite a few reasons for blank screen boot up. If your PC is overclocked and you decided to change a piece of new hardware like your gfx card, there might be conflict. The most common problem I encounter is usually the gfx card not seated properly in the AGP Slot. Make sure the backside of the card is pushed in properly.

One way is to listen to the mobo BIOS beep. Listen to how many beeps it makes when you power on. It will give you a clue to its complaint. If it is the gfx card the bios will beep 3 times.

If its because you change certain settings in the BIOS which resulted in the blank boot up, you can try holding on to the INSERT key while booting up.

This msg is pretty late but FYI.

regards,
Ethan
