Hi all, I'm getting incorrect (I think) Bios temps for my CPU altho am under the impression these are the most accurate ?! At idle I have 67/68 temp in the Bios for CPU, but with other software readings (Asus Probe, MBM & Aida32) it shows 46/47, almost 20c lower.I am inclined to believe the software reports as to touch the CPU heatsink it feels only warm bordering on slightly hot. If it was really 68/68 I would've thought it would feel VERY hot ?! All readings for Mobo are same at 28/30c. I've updated Bios and no change :-(
Any help ?? or should I just stop worrying ?

I have alloy case with decent quality PSU. Also one main intake fan on side of case and 2 rear exhaust fans with generous room to breath. A funny looking triangle shaped Heatsink with 3 fans on each side (forgot name of, but performs better than heatsink/fan bought for xp3200) plus a 80mm fan slapped on top for luck :-)

I cannot find anything similar on here or other places inc a Google search for similar problems :-(

When gaming my temps rise about 5c so I'll be hittin almost 75c if my Bios is correct and surely will fry my processor soon ?!

If Bios is good, is this correct as obv all others must be wrong as so far out:-(

Help! please!

Ta

Well, I'd say the votes are 3 programs to 1 for the lower temp being correct...& the fact that you've touched the heatsink & it's only warm, not hot, pretty much confirms it. A BIOS flash "may" correct the temp reading error.

75C, if it is correct (which I doubt it is), is hot, but not hot enough to fry a CPU...but I wouldn't want my CPU running that hot either. Try a BIOS update...

Try stating your mobo for starters, then i can provide you with a link for the correct bios revision which corrects wrong temp readings.

Sorry for delay getting back :-( ISP's been down for over a day.

Right, Vcore WAS 1.650, but I've recently upped to 1.7 to stabilise which helped getting rid of random blue screens :-)

I have checked and updated Bios from Asus (Asus A7N8X Deluxe) and am running ver 1007.

I don't know where the software programs take their temps from, but obv from a diff place to Bios, it's just that the Bios if often reported as being the most acurate ?!

Thanks
