I recently upgraded my bios from smi site and now my cpu which used to read AMD Athlon 2600+ 2083 MhZ, now reads AMD Athlon XP, 1250 MHz. Is there any way of reversing the upgrade to solve this problem ?.

After flashing a BIOS you need to walk thru all the settings & correct them as necessary. Your FSB has reset from 333MHz (166MHz freq) to 200MHz (100MHz freq)...all you have to do is change it back. There are also numerous other settings that should be checked.

I already told you what you need to do. You didn't need to run AIDA32. Are you not familiar with BIOS settings? If not, why did you flash the BIOS in the 1st place? What were you trying to "fix"?

Here's what you'll need to do...get into the BIOS & go to "Frequency/Voltage Control" & change the following settings:

Spread Spectrum = disabled
CPU FSB Clock = 166MHz

The rest can be left at AUTO. Save the settings & reboot.
