Subject: BIOS problem.
Comment:

I had this problem, whenever i turn on my pc, i can sense that the system is actually running but nothing can be seen on the screen. I have to reset the CMOS jumper and then restart the pc and i can see the display on the screen with " CMOS Battery Low, CMOS MEMORY SIZE WRONG" msg. I've changed a brand new CMOS Battery but problem still the same. I had even Flash the new BIOS and problem still the same. i checked at my device manager, under SYSTEM DEVICES, System Board Extension for PnP BIOS has a conflict. I dont know what to do, can reformat by my hdd solve my nightmare? Pls advise...

Did you flash with the right bios? Some mo'bo manufacturers make slight changes and then have to issue very slightly different bios's (Elitegroup computer systems is one).

The other thing is, Do you have the bios write protect enabled on your motherboard?

Is the reset CMOS jumper back in its normal position?

I would go with badboy here! it sounds very much like your CMOS jumpers! check them to the manual! changing this should help!

a format would do nothing for your problem. It a BIOS problem, not an operating system problem

I wonder if it could be a bad CMOS chip.
