Hey guys!
Im having a bit of confusion on which BIOS i need for the ECS K7S5A fro Elitegroup. On the left bottom corner of my mobo (by pci slots) it says Version 3.1, which i assume is the mobo version and when i run sisoft and check bios info it says: Manufacturer: American Megatrends Inc. Version: 07.00T Date: 04/02/01 Plug & Play Version: 1.00 SMBIOS/DMI Version: 2.30 (EE)PROM Size: 256kB (2Mbit)
Can anyone tell me what BIOS i need or if i am running the most current one for my mobo already?

Version 3.1 is for the motherboard itself. The others refer to the BIOS chip (flash ROM).
Check the ECS website for the latest BIOS revision or, if you wanna overclock, do a search for the CHEEPOMAN BIOS.

all versions of thge k7s5a used the same size CMOS (EEPROM). Also you can use any k7s5a BIOS on both versions. The difference between the boards is a better power circuitry in 3.1
if you want to find your BIOS revision, don't rely on any program. right on POST when it counts the RAM and detects the IDE devices, it will show a date and that the revision#.
the latest offical BIOS is 02/06/26. the latest BETA bios is from a few weeks ago and supports XP2600+
