Bios update is not something to mess about with. You need to open that machine, and make sure you get the motherboard model number and also the revision number if any.
For example, ECS make a motherboard, K7VZA and also K7VZA revision 3.0
These require DIFFERENT bios. So get it right, 100% or you will have a dead motherboard.
