As far as I know, there is no Athlon XP 3100+, unless it's one of those OEM "undocumented" CPUs like the 2900+. There's a 3100+ socket 754 Sempron based on the Athlon 64 though...if that's what you mean, I think I'd go with the 3100+

I guess if you can overclock the hell out of that celeron D to say a 4ghz then you can turn it into some sort of cheap solid gaming machine. I seen some pretty good numbers in gaming benchmarks when someone I read online took a 3ghz Celeron D and overclcoked it to 3.8, but of coruse you will need a good heat sink and fan setup not to mention some case fans
Summary: The T9300 is a better processor. "How do they compare?" The AMD processor would have to be clocked at around 3.0-3.1GHz to match the performance of that 2.5/800/6MB Core 2 Duo. The HTPC: Pentium M oc'...
Summary: I agree with jam on Sempron 2800 being a better processor than the Athlon 2400; but I dont think it is wise to spend even more money on RAM to make use of the Sempron. As jam said, you will take a per...
