Hello Gents!

I was wondering which motherbaord represents the best value for overclocking?

I currently have an ECS Nforce 4 Board which although I ahvnt used yet, have been told that it isnt the bets board for overclocking and that it has little featyres in the bios settings...

I read reviews that the winchester can be overclocked and stable at around 2.5 - 2.7GHZ so I had my heart set on doing that, and if i cant do ti with this cheap motherbaord which board should i buy instead?!

Any help would be great.

Regards

You may have a little problem overclocking with the NEO4,it depends on which 'winchester' you have.

There are workarounds and there may be a bios release soon? that fixes the 'glitch' with winchester cores.

My Diamond is almost identical to the platinum and it works perfectly,no issues at all,for me.(I do have the alledged bug and may be suffering a slight performance loss because of the workaround that I use)

Overclocked to 2.3ghz so far, rock solid.

Most other mobo's work ok with the Winnie core I believe.
The best overclocker is probably the DFI?

Make sure to get a good psu!

Sorry, I forgot to add about my processor!

Its an AMD 3000 winchester 939 -

So, is it possible to get bios updates which allow you more overclocking options?

Best value, I'd say Chaintech.

The winnie problem relates to later cpu's i.e 2005 ones.

I'm not sure the exact dates?

The problem relates to overclocking via the bios.
Nobody is quite sure what/where the problem is or wether it can be fixed?
It's not a major issue but some people are a bit miffed with it.

Some people are calling it the '219 bug'.
