Let's spark something here:
I am thinking about building a new system:

What is the best CPU out on the market these days for every dollar it's selling for??

If you're gonna build a socket A system, the 2500+ Barton is still the best deal. It will easily overclock to 3200+ (with the right board/RAM combo) & it costs a lot less.

Asus A7N8X-X
1800+ @8x210mhz
512mb PC3200
Ti4200/8X 128mb
WDC 60GB

It is hard to give an accurate answer to a question like that, are you talking Intel or AMD.....32bit or 64bit....do you already have a board that the CPU is going into?...
