Hello, Been a long time since i posted here. But best place to go with a question. I just got a Barton 2500 and I have it at 3200 as of right now. No voltage incrase, No multi change, just FSB at 200. AOpen AK97d 400VN/1gb DDR PC2700,nvidia fx5600 128ddr.
I wanted to know is this the norm with bartons. I would have expected it to be unstable and overheating. But idle temp is at 32c and full load at 35 to 36c.
Thanks
Drew

In the early stages, a 2500+ was a 2500+, but "modern" Barton CPUs are all taken from the same wafer, so essentially, a 2500+ IS a 3200+. There may be no difference at all, or it may be a 3200+ that failed testing criteria for a 3200+ @ 400FSB, but passed as a 2500+ @ 333FSB. The multi is locked at 11.0x, changing the setting will have no effect.
You're not complaining, are you? lol
Is your PC2700 RAM running at 200mhz/DDR400 or are you running it at 166mhz/DDR333?

If you happened to note the model info from the label on your CPU, this site will tell you exactly what CPU you have, regardless of what it's rated at (credit goes to Sabertooth for finding this site):

I have a barton 2200(1.8ghz) with the fsb set at 178 with a 13.5 multiplier for 2.4ghz. I have two 256k memory chips, one a muskin and one samsung pc2700. I have tried to go higher but 178 is all I can get and be stable. I set the core at 1.75. The temp runs at 39c with room temp at 24c.
Could someone tell me if this is fair, good or excellent?
Also the chip has this number: axdc2200duv3c. I have looked at some sites that identify this chip but have not seen any with the axdc. What does the c represent? How can you tell from the numbers that it is a barton (that was what I was sold).
Thanks

Another question. I found this forum "http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?s=9e7d15e997d73e82c932ef5c04492dad&threadid=244237'
And I tried to see if mine was there but didnt see it. I have AQXEA 0347 RPMW Can someone helpThanx Drew

What is it that you wanna know?
You apparently have a Barton that was built in week 47 of 2003, so chances are better than good that the multiplier is locked.
If you go to the link I posted in response 2 & enter your CPU info, you'll find out which CPU you "really" have. Or you could try this one:
