Subject: Bad CPU Displayed
OS: Windows XP
CPU/Ram: Athlon XP 2800+
Comment:
When I right click on my computer, it says my computer is just "AMD Athlon(tm)" with a speed of 1.24 GHz. I have a 2.08 GHz processor (athlon xp2800). DXdiax says it's a "MMX, 3DNow"
Why am I getting wrong display info????

For some reason, your bus speed dropped from 166MHz to 100MHz.

166.6*12.5=2082.5MHz
100.0*12.5=1250.0MHz

Go into your BIOS (usually <del> or <F1> at the initial POST screen), find your CPU settings (usually in the Advanced section of the BIOS), and select the 166MHz (aka 333MHz DDR) option. Make sure the CPU multiplier is left at 12.5X. Now save these settings and reboot.

EDIT: Is this system a notebook PC?
