Comment: Hey guys, recently I`ve tried to download a crack for winrar and the crack produced several trojans and virus's.(I know not the right thing to do by downloading cracks) I`ve removed most of the virus's with SpyBot and Spysweeper and my Norton AntiVirus cant be enabled because of an internal error. My windows firewall is also shot, I cant configure the settings of it. And it also shuts down a few minutes after I booted it up, before this happened, I kept my computer on 24/7 so I don't think overheating is an issue.
Would yyou guys happen to have a program or anything to help me with this matter. I am on my sisters computer but my computer is a Gateway 310, Windows XP SE

Reply: (edit)Run your cleaners & antivurus from Safe mode. While you're there, run MSCONFIG from the start menu & disable any questionable entries listed under the Startup tab. You can also try a rollback using System Restore

Reply: (edit)Safe mode doesnt work for me.. i do not know why. When I first boot up my computer and I want to put it in safe mode the right thing to do is to hit F8 and then select safe mode. Well, that doesn't work for me so i found another way to do it, Go to start, run, msconfig, BOOT.INI, and select /SAFEBOOT i did that, restarted my computer, and now I cant even get past the WINDOWS XP screen where the little blue bar is loading. idk what to do anymore

Reply: (edit)You can try booting off the XP CD & using the "recovery console" Or you can try doing a "repair install" http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=307654 http://www.windowsreinstall.com/winxppro/installxpcdrepair/indexfullpage.htm
