No it's not. Basically it's a low end card that doesn't support DX9. It's OK for the internet or watching DVDs, but it's not a good gaming card. The fact that it has 256MB means nothing.

It depends on your specs. I have the Sapphire ATI Radeon 9250 256 for the PCI Bus. Why you may ask? That was the best I could find for the PCI bus (I don't have an AGP). I would suggest something else if you have an agp slot. I am using it now and it works great I am play Half Life 2 and CS:Source. Works fine but I would suggest the 9600
