I'd pick the AMD package for general home use. It's faster and has onboard video.

Ummm....too much reading, however, just going by CPU, I'd take a Athlon over a Celeron any day.

Sorry! I'll try to condence it next time :b

Is celeron still the trash it was back in '98 (infamous no cache 300 MHz CPU)?

IMO, your last combo would be a better choice for a business workstation because of fewer worries with temperature issues. Still would go with the AMD for home use.

Try pricewatch.com for other available combos...it's updated often.

I have no experience with Jetway motherboards and I'm basing my choices on processor speed and cache for the home base rig and the ability to just plug the Celeron in and forget it for an office workstation machine.

Actually, the cacheless Celeron was a short lived concept, the A series of Celerons had 128KB of on die L2 cache and, in many cases, outperformed the higher end PII/III's, it was only when they integrated the cache on the Socket 370 PIII's that the Celeron fell behind. Now the Celeron has no L2 cache, on 128KB of L1 cache, so its a all round piece'o'crap if you ask me.

I like Intel better, but the Athlon would kick the pants out of a Celeron for performance.
SkipCox is right too celerons run pretty cool.
