Subject: Athlon XP 3200+ temperature... help
OS: Windows XP Professional
CPU/Ram: AMD Athlon XP 3200+ / 1GB
Model/Manufacturer: Soltek / nVIDIA nForce 2
Comment:

Hi, my athlon xp 3200+'s temperature is approx. 52 degrees celcius (126 degrees Feirenheit) and the CPU diode's temperature is approximately 64 degrees celcious (147 degrees faihrenheit).

Am i supposed to be worried or in the case of and AMD this is not a high temperature?

10x in advance

Are those temperatures at idle or under full load? If 64C is the idle temperature, then you would start to worry about your heatsink setup, thermalpaste and case air flow.. If that is the absolute max temperature under full load, then you should not worry too much but for Athlon XP series, <60C is recomanded for under full load...

I see the limits of the cpu stress by playing far cry :)

when its idle, its 50 degrees celcius. after playing far cry. its 60 degrees.

What do you think?

Sry. i was mistaken. when the cpu is idle, the temp varies between 40 to 50 degrees celcius.

so?

It could be lower, but it's definitely nothing to panic about

If I hit 55 under full load I'd be very worried. If I hit 50 I'd be a little nervous and would be looking for cooling solution's. I have an Athlon XP 2200+ and under full load i'm barely into the 40's.

anything under sixty or so is just fine for this cpu. people tend to panic. my idle is in on this cpu is ~50 with a max of ~60. rock solid and safely beneath max rating of 80.
high heat and very small core so don't expect great temps
