Hi: I have a new custom built system running an AMD Athlon XP 2200+ on a Gigabyte Motherboard.. I'm concerned about the CPU temps, they are runnung about 46-47 Degrees Celcius under normal load as reported by both the BIOS and Motherboard Monitor..so I assume they are correct.. My Case temps have been running 30-31 Degrees Celcius..32 Max. Are these temps normal? particularly the CPU temp.. I am running a Thermaltake Volcano 8 SE heatsink and fan, with 2 case fans(one in back and one in front) and a 400 Watt PSU.. I always hear of Athlon XP idle temps being in the 30's.. Any input would be greaty appreciated! Thanks :-)

That temp is OK for your CPU.

I have an Athlon 1700+ and it ranges from 35 to 45 degrees C - (depending on case temp 27 - 35)

I think as long as its lower than 50C your fine, but above that things are getting a bit toasty

your temps are fine, though it's a little weird because i'm using the stock hsf/one case fan on my 2200 and getting the same temps as your volcano
