Comment: Hello, I just got myself AMD XP Athlon 2000+ and I want to replace the stock fan that came with it. What fan should I get? I want something heavy duty and something that can take care of the heat even if I'll consider overclocking in the future. Thank you.

Reply: (edit)Athlon XPs are known to run extremely hot. I would look into a ThermalTake (brand name) fan, maybe the dragon orb 1, or a volcano model. FYI - these fans are loud! I have a dragon orb 3 pushing 7000 rpm on an XP1800, and the temp never gets over 35 C. On the other hand, it sounds like a jet engine. Awesome! You can get a slower model to lessen the noise if you want.

Reply: (edit)the coolermaster heatpipe seems to outperform the thermaltake fans marginally at the same price....I'd go with them I run a 1900+ and get around the same temps as the other guy..plus my room is very warm sucks for me...
