Hello,

I just got myself AMD XP Athlon 2000+ and I want to replace the stock fan that came with it. What fan should I get? I want something heavy duty and something that can take care of the heat even if I'll consider overclocking in the future.

Thank you.

Athlon XPs are known to run extremely hot. I would look into a ThermalTake (brand name) fan, maybe the dragon orb 1, or a volcano model.

FYI - these fans are loud! I have a dragon orb 3 pushing 7000 rpm on an XP1800, and the temp never gets over 35 C. On the other hand, it sounds like a jet engine. Awesome! You can get a slower model to lessen the noise if you want.

the coolermaster heatpipe seems to outperform the thermaltake fans marginally at the same price....I'd go with them

I run a 1900+ and get around the same temps as the other guy..plus my room is very warm

sucks for me...
