Please help.
1. What is the normal and workload temps for a Athlon 64 3200+ (Not over clocked)?
2. What should the voltage be for the CPU fan?
3. What should the voltage for the system fan?
4. In the BIOS what is the CPU fan ramp rate, and what should it be set to?At the moment my Athlon 64 3200+ is idling around 50 oc accordding to the BIOS. The M/B temp is 35 oc. I took the side of my case off and positioned a normal desktop fan blowing into it, even on full speed, the temp only dropped to 43 oc whilst idling. Whats going on im sure that is too hot for idle. Does anyone know how i can sort the temp problem out?
Im using a AMD approved and heatsink and fan.
Does anyone know of a good CPU temp monitoring software? I have tried a few but none are compatible with my motherboard. I have a ASUS A8NE-FM motherboard

ASUS A7N8X-X

Asus A9550GE/TD 128MB
WinME/WinXP Pro SP1

relax man
my 2800+ is 48C idle, 50-51 full load
and 53 idle when oveclocking.
Athlon 64 2800+ @ 2.63 Ghz Stock cooling
V-Gen 512MB pc3200 2-3-2-5
DFI Lanparty UT NF3
Abit R9550 VGuru XTurbo
525Mhz / 300Mhz

Thats seems a bit high to me my winchester 64 3200 idles at 28 degrees and max load ive seen while stress testing for about 12 hours was only about 40. Admittitly ive got a akasa pure copper heatsink, but as far as i can remember my stock heatsink was only 5-6 degrees higher on load. My sytem temp is about 28 degrees.
What core do you have ? the .09nm cores like the winchester or venice are allot cooler if you have a .13nm core like a newcastle or clawhammer then those temps might be normal.
Make sure the heatsink is fitted properly and the thermal pad is fully in contact with the chip. Or you could try reapplying some thermal paste, but this will void the warrany apparently.

How do i find out what core i have on my chip, i have just looked at the packaging it came in but there is no mention of the core type. Mine idles around 50 oc but when under load it gets up to 70 oc, now thats not normal, this chip is not over clocked.

Use this,it will tell you which core you have
Tt Lanfire
MSI K8N Diamond
AMD64 3000+'Venice'
1gb pc4400
OCZ Powerstream 520w
6600GT
WDCaviar 160gb sata
WDCaviar 160gb sata;~}

Hey man, You are lucky,
My system idle is about 53C and I used to worry about it a lot, but now I don't even care, cause at full load my temps are 60C LOL.
Ask Jam about my history with my Amd 54 3200+.Killer
