I have to make do with crappy duron 900's
I have fried 4 chips in under two years on my A7V Asus board, great board!!!!
Made my own fan speed controller from 12v dimmer switch out of car dash light. works a treat can go from 4400- 7800 on my volcano!

You made a fan control out of a dimmer switch. That's extremely cool. Anyway, look on www.pricewatch.com and you should be able to find tons of places where you can get Athlons. Also, try looking for chips called Thunderbirds or T-birds, as that's what a lot of people refer to the Athlons as.

I got my Athlon 200 fsb tbird core via ebay for $65. Look around, you never know what you can find.

Good Luck!

If you fried 4 chips in less than 2 years, you're not doing something right...

That MOBO may support many AMD CPUs 1GHz and higher. If you’ve got a decent PSU and a good HSF and the MOBO supports FSB 133/266, get the faster Athlon XP you can afford that it will support.

nah the A7V rev 1.02 only goes to 200fsb
with memory at 133mzh

so i am limited with durons to 1Ghz an Athlons At 200Mzh to 1.2,

For some reason when I push a Duron (200fsb )over 1050Mhz they Crap up with the Blue Screen of P.C Death!

But I could just unlock and straight clock an Athlon from 900 to 1200 just on clock speed!

Yeah, you could do that. How did you manage to fry that many CPU's though? You were most definitely doing something wrong.
