I have an athlon 1600+ and a iwill motherboard.
It was running at 1.05GHz so I changed the cpu clock to 140 and now it runs at 1.47GHz.
Is that the only thing you have to do to change the performance of the cpu or is there others things I should do.

The XP 1600 should clock at 1.4GHz. Its multiplier is locked at 10.5 by AMD. Your FSB was 100MHz so it was initially running at 1050MHz.

You have increased your FSB to140MHz so it clocks at 1470MHz.

Depending on your MOBO, you can usually select base FSB for 100MHz or 133MHz using jumpers on the MOBO and/or the CMOS settings. The default is usually 100MHz.
