Hi, I was searching on google on yesterday, and found this interesting link. Looks like alot of people have sucess with Athlon XP T-Bred on their Asus A7V classic. Most do recommand to use the AX2100dut3c TBred-B 2100+ XP since is unlocked... Rest of them use 1700 1800 2000 and 2400 Tbred-B.. Do you think I will have a chance maybe to get this athlon XP to work on my A7V? I dont want to buy new DDR RAM and motherboard... etc... since I have 768mb PC133 RAM already... Thx... Here is the link...

What's the point? You have a perfectly good Athlon Tbird running in that board at 1495mhz/130mhz FSB, correct? According to most of the posts I read from the link you posted, most of them are running their Athlon XP at closer to 100mhz FSB. So what you may gain in overall clock speed, you'll lose in FSB speed - & FSB is crucial to good performance. You're beating a dead horse....stick with the Tbird

Right now my tbird runs at 1.5ghz @ 130 fsb. True that fsb will benefit more than just the multiplier. However, if I can o/c that Athlon 2100+ to 130 x 17 = 2210mhz. That's like ~ 50% faster than what my tbird can offer.. Because right now I'm trying to play the sims 2, half life 2 on my PC and it lags like crap when there are alot of graphics around. Here is the spec of my systme...

Delta 145watt PSU (ran it for 7 yrs now)
Asus A7V rev 1.05 mobo
Athlon 1495Mhz 130x11.5 @ 1.8v
768MB PC133 RAM running at 2-2-2
10GB Quantum 7200RPM HD
40GB IBM laptop 5400RPM HD
60GB USB 2.0 External Hitach Laptop HD
32MB ATI Radoen 8500LE 250/250
24x SONY CD ROM
52/32/52x LG CDRW
SB LIVE! Value 5.1

I tried to run the sims 2, half life 2, need for speed underground 2 on it. Lag like crap on all of these games. What should I do then, upgrade the CPU for like $60 to 2.2ghz or buy a new video card?

There's nothing wrong with your CPU. Even if you were to install an Athlon XP & o/c the hell out of it like you're proposing, your gameplay would still suck. Your CPU isn't holding you back, it's your 32mb LE (Lite Edition) video card.

The 1st thing you should do is upgrade your PSU as was recommended by xXx-HotShot-xXx. Get at least a 350 watt unit with no less than 16A on the +12v rail. Then you can look for a video card. I recommend a card with 128mb, 128-bit buspath, that supports DX9. Check the AGP specs for your motherboard & be sure to get a card that's compatible

BTW, I think I mentioned I have an Asus A7V133-C in my backup machine. 768mb PC133, 1.33 Tbird O/C'd to 1.54 (11 x 140). I tried to run my 1800+ Tbred on that board & couldn't get it to run stably unless I lowered the FSB to about 110mhz. Anything higher & I had all sorts of problems. I tried everything I could think of & even posted in this forum for help, but nothing I tried worked.

Go back to the link you posted...everyone is O/Cing with the multiplier. I only looked at the 1st couple of pages, but check the FSB settings...100, 101, 104, 105, 108, etc. I didn't see anything higher than 113mhz.

I don't think your plan is gonna work. Get yourself a new PSU & a decent video card, then go frag some aliens! ;)

I have an Asus A7V133 Raid board and only an Athlon TBird B with 1,2GHz. It's OCed to 10x133MHz and I have 512MB SD Ram.
With my MSI FX5900XT-VTD128 I'm playing Underground2 at 1280x1024 with the highest graphic setting and it runs smoothly. Out of couriosity I even tested Doom3 on a lower graphic setting. I only ran it for about 15 minutes because it was borrowed from a friend who wanted to go on but it ran quite smoothly!

As your CPU is faster than my I think it's your graphic card that's the bottle neck. Get a FX5900XT or Radeon 9800pro (both should have 256bit bus but 128MB Ram should be enough).
But to run such a graphic card you surely need a better power supply because those cards need an additional power connector!
