Yo J5im8yo !

You going to build a system with the A7N8X now? LOL!

The A7N8X is a good board with all the features you need, but with a price of $45 more than 8RDA+, it's a waste of money. I don't see paying the extra for an extra LAN connection (you can only use 1 at a time, unless you're using it as a bridge, in which case you're better off spending the cash on a cheap router/hardware firewall) SerialATA RAID is neat, but you've got to spend the extra money to buy the serialATA drives, again costing you much more money. (Hell, they're not even available yet!) By the time SerialATA becomes affordable, this board (all of 'em probably) will be obsolete. Best overclocker? NO! That's why it won the editors choice SILVER award and not the GOLD. Full featured? Absolutely! Features you need wasting your system resources? NO!

EPoX has the best tech support, whether via email or via the online forum, meaning EPoX owners will have BIOS updates on a regular basis to keep us ahead of the pack. Case in point, the Beta BIOS released Friday in the EPoX forum that unlocked ALL multipliers below 15X and FSB's up to 211 MHz. The last Asus BIOS release was when, 5 weeks ago? Oh, BTW, where is the forum where the Asus techs help troubleshoot problems? NOWHERE. I've owned 2 Asus boards, both of them arrived DOA and had to be RMA'd. It was amazing that I got thru that pain in the @$$ experience.

What is the A7N8X claim to fame right now? PCI lock? Mine is locked on my 8RDA+ too!

Where are the advantages that put the A7N8X ahead of the rest of the nForce2 boards? It sure as hell isn't in the price, real world features or overclocking performance!

Whatever you say... being that you're the expert... LOL

What about you OC'd KT7A w/ the 1GHz t-bird running @ 1.33 GHz? You giving up on that project? (Posted 12/3)

Also, did you give up on your "dual processor" oh no, correction "supercomputer"?

Or were you going to build that "pretty" system with the KT400 board, OC'd XP2100+ and PC2100? Listed here.. LOL

When you do put a rig together, please post some screenies with benchmarks.. I'd be intrested in seeing what you end up with.

Hey J5im8yo

I don't suppose you could run the SiSoft Sandra CPU arithmetic benchmark on the 1 GHz Athlon OC'd to 1.33 GHz? I'd be interested to see the results.

I did run the SiSoft Sandra on my 1000@1333 CPU I even did it when it was OC'd to 1400.
\_/. I would post the result I just dunno how to take screen shot ;D. LOL maybe I'll find a way like a program maybe? Or is it built in the winXP. My interest is hardware non of this software crap.

UTLLAMA!! You! No, I'm saying I try to understand which type of computer, CPU, ram all is the best before I spend thousands into a COMP that I will enjoy for weeks. Thats why I posted all of that Dual CPU was my first thought, but then I realize people's unsupportive comments on it so maybe I should change it to just a single CPU so I started to search for new mobo and stuff. The Overclocking is never a project I'm trying to burn my CPU which I couldn't because when I try to raise my speed up to 2gig the comp would lock up. LOL

Screen Capture: hold down Print Screen+Ctrl+C, goto a picture program MS Paint will work fine, hold down Crtl+V, and Viola, youve gotta screen shot :-), works with all Windows 98+ (maybe 95 never tried). I would be best to save as a jpg, for smaller file. So MS Paint isnt the best program to use, but it'll work.
