My Computer:
Asus A7V8X Mobo
AMD 2000+ CPU with stock cooling/no overclocking
512mb 333mhz DDR
2, 80gb 8mb cache HD's
Optorite DVD+-RW
NEC CD-RW
Memory Heat Sink
7 Case Fans
3 fan PSU

On the newest revision of Asus Probe....
CPU temps: 60oC
MB Temps: 35oC

Is this too hot? When i take off the case, the CPU, HD, MEM, Northbridge, and GPU are pretty hot. Is this normal? What is the average temps? Thanks- Zack

Unfortunately, temp reporting isn't always accurate...sometimes it's a prob in the software, sometimes the sensor. Try checking temps in the BIOS, that's usually more accurate. IMO, 7 case fans is overkill...if they're not configured properly, they fight each other & the airflow gets all messed up. My overclocked 1800+ is running at 25C right now, using a cheap CoolerMaster HSF w/thermal pad, & only 2 case fans. Is your system stable?

Yes, those temps are a bit high. First and foremost, 7 case fans dont mean anything if u dont have a proper flow of air through the case. Make sure u are blowing a steady stream of fresh air in one end of the case and out the other. If u are sure u have sufficient airflow, check the bios, or maybe even asus probe, to make sure u are running at the proper core voltage. Im not sure what yours is u will have to check. Next, there may not be an acceptable contact between the cpu and the heatsink. if you have thermal paste, i would try reapplying thermal paste. I once did this to troubleshoot a high temp and it went down 5º+. I would try the latter after u have exhausted all other possibilities. Im sure there is more u can try, but im tired ill let someone else can fill in the rest...

Highly probable, the heatsink is not installed right.

My motherboard is 35c and cpu 39c.
With your motherboard at 35c I would say you have a reporting problem or as real_cool suggest a problem with contact between cpu and hs. Nothing wrong with the air temp in the case.
