(mboard a7v8x-x) hello all, while messing around in bios.. i saw on option to let my processor go to 2300mhz (its default is 1.9ghz 2600xp), but the thing that i seen was weird is it like changed the ram to 200mhz or whatever instead of 166mhz. im only on pc2700, is this a bad idea?. becuase it runs stable at 2300 with the 200mhz

For best performance, the CPU & the RAM should run at the same bus speed.

Seeing that your default CPU speed is 1.9ghz, you must have a Barton core Athlon XP. At 200mhz/400FSB you have both your CPU & RAM overclocked. Sometimes it'll work, sometimes not...sometimes you'll need to increase the CPU voltage and/or the RAM volatge to maintain stability, sometimes not.

I suggest you keep an eye on your temps & run a couple of stress programs to see what happens. Try running TOAST & Prime95...see how it holds up. Those programs (& others) are available here:
