OS: Windows XP Pro
CPU/Ram: AMD Athlon X2 4200+/2GB
Product: Custom
Comment:

To counter Intel's Conroe core until AMD introduces a new architecture, AMD will introduce a dual cpu socket for the AM2, that will feature two independent DDR2 memory controllers. I'm just happy to see AMD bring back the dual cpu socket plus adding dual core on each processor to the mix and you are going to have a rocket of a pc.

This is as lame as Intel's surprise introduction of the "enthusiast-oriented" P4 EE back when AMD first released the Athlon 64.
I'm waiting till K8L.

I don't blame AMD, it's not hard to get comfortable and complacent with the successes they've had so far especially when you consider their very humble background.

The next 7 weeks is bound to be bustling....;-)

Well I know most of you would have seen this by now but it's for the ones that don't.

I may have to sell my pc within the next year and go out and grab one of these bad boys. I can't imagine a dual cpu socket and 2 quad-core AMD Athlon 64's X4 processors. Overkill? Maybe for most, but with encoding movies, music, 3d rending and games then you need all the power you can get.

That's real news if you have stocks in dell and AMD.

Think outside the box.
