AMD XP much better than T-Bird?

Well I havn't tryed a AMD XP CPU yet but I heard that you can only use Win XP with it.
To be truthful of 2 diffrent types of CPUs if they run at the same speed i woild go with the 1 thats cheaper.

Tom you've been misinformed the Athlon XP is not soley for Windows XP, I'm running mine with Win 98 SE.
The Athlon XP is one of the newer AMD chips and is fast, the Thunderbird was the one before the XP.
I think the XP part relates to supporting some new instruction sets that have been built into Windows XP & XP software (along the lines of MMX on the pentiums). Could be wrong though.
