No!

Your motherboard only supports up to 266FSB, if you want to upgrade to an Athlon XP 3200+ CPU, get a board that supports up to 400FSB.

WHAT!? I thought A7V333 supports up to 333Mhz FSB. 266mhz fsb is used for A7V266, A7M266 and A7A266 only.

Can I adjust the multiple 9.5x and set 333mhz FSB like 9.5x 333mhz = ~3163Mhz, close to 3.2Ghz?

You are confusing clock frequency with FSB (ddr), BTW what AMD cpu are you basing your above setting on?...AFAIK even Athlon XP 3200+ @ default clock is 2.2GHz (200x11).

I suggest you read your board's manual again to familiarize yourself with its capabilities.

1st of all, an AMD 3200+ does NOT run at 3200mhz, it runs at 2200mhz (11 x 200mhz), & unless you get an early version, the multiplier will be locked.

Your board only officially supports PC2700 (DDR333), so to run a 200mhz/400FSB CPU, I think you'd have to run async, which results in lower performance. Also, you'll have to check what the PCI speed is at the various CPU bus settings. The PCI default speed is 33mhz, but can handle up to about 38mhz...beyond that & you can expect probs. So a setting like 170/43 is no good.

hello jam, can you pls tell me the location of the FSB jumper on your board? the A7N8X please?
Need this to make a friend's mobo run at 133 instead of the default 100.
I located a set of what looks like 4 pins, but there are only 3 there...looks like one pin is broken off sheesh!
He got this mobo for a cheap price and am wondering if one of the FSB setting pins is broken,

PS: he does not have the manual, the shop guy told him he did not have one....all the more reason for me to suspect he gave my friend an used board with a pin off...

Hi Kailas,

I don't have a A7N8X, I have a A7N8X-X. The CPU_FSB jumper is to the left of the chipset. There should only be 3 pins...if the jumper cap is on 2-3, it will run at 200FSB (100mhz) only...if it's set to 1-2, it's good for 266/333/400FSB

Jack, the CPU will work in that motherboard. But you may not be able to get its full performance in that motherboard. But the KT333 is a solid performer in the right motherboard.

I ran my Epox 8K3A+ (also KT333) at 209 FSB (11.5x209) for a very long time. The resulting PCI bus was rather high, but my components gave me no problems. I switched to an Epox 8RDA3+ (Nforce 2 chipset) because of some bulging capacitors on my 8K3A+. But I saw no performance increase in switching.
I was able to run my Kingston HyperX PC2700 at 1:1 with no trouble.

If you are able to use the 1/5 divisor, you ought to be able to at least hit the low 180 range for FSB. Unless you have a Radeon video card. They do not tolerate high PCI busses well at all.

Something isn't right if you didn't see a speed increase going to Nforce2. The memory controller on NForce2's destroy the KT333.

To the original poster -

I'd invest in a KT600, KT880, or Nforce2 Ultra chipset motherboard. You can get one on Newegg.com for as little as $40.
